PM Line Cook - Fulltime

Title: PM Line Cook
Reports to: Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine

Overview

Juniper Restaurant at Hotel Vermont is currently interviewing for a PM line cook to join our team. This positions works 5 evening shifts per week, 2:00pm - 10:00pm. We offer competitive pay including a $3,000 annual bonus and a great work environment. We look forward to hearing from you! This position is responsible preparing dishes for guest's and staff, following recipe or Sous Chef's/ Chef's ingredient instructions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily execution of a station within the kitchen, including maintaining inventory, quality control and an accurate prep list.

  • Cooks food properly and in a timely fashion, using all appropriate safety precautions.

  • Communicates with other kitchen team members to ensure food is prepared on time and correctly.

  • Ensures consistent high quality of plate presentation.

  • Team working and communication between line cooks is a must.

  • Train or show other line cooks certain steps in creating a dish or preparation methods when necessary or directed.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Sous Chef or Chef.

  • Comply with scheduled kitchen sanitation and ensure all standards and practices are met.

  • Use all food handling standards.

  • Ensure use of FIFO (First in-First out) system, all ingredients are labeled and stored properly.

  • Maintain system of control for storage temperatures and proper functioning of kitchen equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Has 3 Years line cook experience.

  • Shows passion for local and sustainable ingredients.

  • Must be able to lift #50 repeatedly during a day.

  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs repeatedly during a day
